Hack-O-Day?

HACK-O-DAY 2024 is a guided hackathon organized by the Olympia Schools. As one of the activities in our Griffin Scholarships Program 2024, the competition invites aspiring students (ages 14-17) in Vietnam come to gain fundamental tech skills and entrepreneurial mindsets.

Students will be given a challenge related to SDGs to work on within a short period of time. Together with their teammates, they collaborate and use their collective creative problem-solving skills to develop a solution or technology for that challenge.

You will get to know which theme you have been assigned on the day of the event. Participants need to integrate their ideas with one of the UN SDGs to create their innovative solution.

What are the judging criteria?

The judging criteria and the success criteria for your product will be provided to you on the day of the event, after the opening ceremony. You will have to make your product only based on that. We will not accept any product made before the competition.

What materials do I need to bring?

Participants should bring their own laptops, chargers, any necessary software tools, and any specific hardware required for their projects. Additionally, it's advisable to bring any personal items or resources that may aid in your productivity and comfort during the event. We will only provide work areas and classrooms for you to work in.

Do I need programming experience to participate?

No, programming experience is not mandatory. We welcome participants from all backgrounds and skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned coder or a complete beginner, you can contribute to your team in various ways, such as ideation, design, project management, and more.

Will lunch be provided for the participants?

No, participants are requested to bring their own lunch, snacks, and drinks.

Is transportation provided?

Transportation to and from the hackathon venue is not provided by the organisers. Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation.
